Natalia Laluq Artist Statement Belleville Plein-Airs

I reside in Belleville from 2020. Working on plein-air series is my way to lean Belleville. It is my tribute to the classical genre of paintings well established in Canada since the Group of Seven. Going outside to paint have a lot of challenges, but outcomes with a very bright “in moment” results of fresh, snap shot like, reportage pieces. They reflect the weather conditions, my own mood and abilities of that very day I went out to paint. Presented are the series of oils on canvas made in Belleville and surrounding locations from 2020.
